Personal Statement

I am an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine, and the Director of the Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy program in the Division of Cardiology at ÈÕ±¾avÉ«ÇéƬ Medical College and New York Presbyterian Hospital. My clinical practice is in general cardiology, with a focus on hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and sports cardiology. I also care for patients with a wide array of cardiovascular disease, such as coronary disease and valvular heart disease. In addition to seeing patients in the office at Weill Greenberg Center, I serve as an attending physician on the inpatient services at New York Presbyterian Hospital, including the intensive care unit and cardiac units.  I work closely with other physicians from varied specialties to help provide compassionate, individualized and high quality care. 

Biographical Info

Dr Diala Steitieh completed an accelerated premedical program followed by a medical degree from Weill-Cornell Medicine in Qatar. After graduating she moved to New York where she completed her residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in cardiovascular disease at ÈÕ±¾avÉ«ÇéƬ- New York Presbyterian Hospital. She served as chief fellow for the cardiovascular division, and now serves as the director of the Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Center. Dr Steitieh is a member of the American College of Cardiology, the American Heart Association, and the Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Society. She is a principle investigator for clinical studies at Cornell, and also takes part in various outcomes research within the division of Cardiology.
